Pimlico Plumbers crowned winners of Matthews Apprenticeship Champions Award
On Friday 15th July 2016 Matthews the Printers were proud to be the sponsor of the Apprenticeship Champion Award at the Red Ribbon Awards held at London’s Iconic Wembley Stadium.
Over 350 family business leaders and entrepreneurs attended these prestigious and sort after awards. Our Managing Director, Christopher Riddell, was proud to present our award to the winners, Pimlico Plumbers, who are an extremely deserving winner due to their commitment to young people and due to the fact they currently employ 40 apprentices.
When asked why Matthews sponsored this award Christopher said “As a family business ourselves we are proud to support and sponsor Family Business Place and the Red Ribbon Awards and have done so for a number of years. This year we felt that the Apprenticeship Champion Award was a great fit with Matthews due to our employment of apprentices throughout our business and our commitment to supporting young people who enter our trade. Pimlico Plumbers are a great ambassador for apprentices and have a model that a lot of businesses could learn from.”
Two other family businesses also showed exceptional commitment to apprenticeships and received commended for Excellence Awards and these were Rooftec (Scotland) and Swifts Bakery.
Matthews look forward to a continued relationship with Family Business Place and all family businesses and will continue to offer our sponsorship and support to the Red Ribbon Awards in order to help highlight how incredible and special family businesses are.
