Matthews have worked with a wide range of clients in the food and drink industry since 1984. We have had the privilege of working with some of the top companies and brands, and still work with the majority today. Nando’s is an expanding and very popular high street chain whose heritage stems back to 1987 when two friends, Fernando Duarte and Robbie Brozin sat down to dinner in a humble Portuguese eatery and ate some mouth-watering PERi-PERi chicken.

Due to Nando’s on-going success and continual growth, they urgently needed a partner who could meet their ever growing needs and service their current restaurant estate both efficiently and competitively. Nando’s also see their employees and customers as part of their family and therefore needed a partner who understood these values and could fit into such an environment.

Matthews were the partner Nando’s were looking for and following an in-depth tender process we were awarded the contract in 2013. Wagamama opened their first restaurant in London’s Bloomsbury in 1992, inspired by fast-paced Japanese ramen bars and a celebration of Asian food. At the heart of Wagamama philosophy is ‘Kaizen’ meaning ‘good change’ and it is due to ‘Kaizen’ that Wagamama standards are high, ingredients are cooked fresh and served fresh.

With high standards for their own food and service it is only fitting that Wagamama would require the same standards from their print partner when it comes to the finished product and customer service. Matthews met Wagamama high standards and were able to deliver on all of their tender objectives.

We work closely with Wagamama to ensure that their dishes look fresh, vibrant and nourishing on all printed collateral whether on a national campaign or locally for the individual restaurants.

Matthews understand the importance of brand integrity and as such ensure that all printed products are of the highest standard, to budget and within the brand guidelines. We have worked with InBev on the Artois Championship for the past six years due to our consistent delivery of these key areas.

This particular project included a number of items with different delivery times and locations. In terms of turnaround the ‘Daily Programme’ was the most demanding due to us typesetting, art-working, printing and finishing the job each evening after close of play. These items were then delivered to the Queen’s Club by 8am the following day.

This project demonstrates our core skills and our passion to ensure deadlines are met and the quality is of a high standard, which are all important elements to our clients in maintaining brand integrity.

Matthews began working with award-winning spirit producer Sipsmith, in May 2010.

Since the commencement of work Matthews have produced a number of marketing and promotional items for Sipsmith, all of which must be of the highest quality and represent the brand correctly. The items produced have included: –

The majority of Sipsmith’s marketing materials are produced on uncoated stocks and carry a solid colour. We deliver either direct to head office, to venues for events or to Sipsmith’s bottling plant where we liaise directly with the supplier to arrange delivery.

Matthews always ensure the quality of the printed product is of the highest standard and that we deliver on-time at competitive prices.

Sipsmith was founded in 2009 and, in spring of that year, the company produced its first batches of gin and vodka using its handmade copper-pot still; the first in London for 189 years. Today, the company makes its gin and vodka by hand and in small batches, producing just a few hundred bottles at a time. Sipsmith launched a sloe gin in 2009/2010 and won Observer Food Monthly’s Best Food and Drink Newcomer in 2010.
