Welcoming New Apprentices
The start of the educational year brings about new opportunities for young people looking to combine education with work experience through an apprenticeship. Apprenticeships aim to help individuals gain a new set of skills whilst on the job. Apprentices can be employed straight from school or a current employee can join an apprenticeship scheme to enhance their skills.
Matthews has employed apprentices for a number of years across our whole business, in the factory and also the office. We feel that apprentices bring a fresh perspective and a willingness to learn which re-energises a team. Matthews employs apprentices to build our teams and for them to join our teams upon completion of their course. Apprentices are a part of our business and we will always champion the apprenticeship process wherever, and whenever we can.
This year we have employed two new apprentices to join our team and we would like to welcome them into our Matthews family.
- Reece, has joined our design team in order to aid us in growing our skill set and therefore offer more design services to our clients. Reece is carrying out an apprenticeship at New City College and will be achieving the following qualifications upon completion of his apprenticeship
- Atiya has joined our programming team as a result of the increased demand for our online solutions. Working closely with our programmers Atiya will be building her programming skills and help us move our solutions forwards. Atiya will be carrying out her apprenticeship at University of Essex and will achieve a higher level degree at the end of her 3 years.
- BSc Digital and Technology Solutions (Software Engineering)
Matthews are very much looking forward to working with Reece and Atiya and the new services and skills they will help us bring to our business.
Atiya and Reece will be sharing their experiences over the course of their apprenticeships.
